Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. For many restaurants, the holiday is one of their most important days of the year, especially after the pandemic. The holiday falls on a Tuesday this year and though you’ll find plenty of restaurants with à la carte menus, I’ve curated a list of the best Valentine’s Day dinner options in the city that still have reservation availability. From romantic hideaways to a handful of the city’s best restaurants, old favorites and newcomers alike, plus a heart-shaped pizza to-go if you plan to celebrate at home. These excellent Los Angeles restaurants have your V-Day plans covered in terms of ambience and food alike—and if you find that your first choice is booked, you’re almost guaranteed to find another just-as-great spot on this list.

Lady Byrd Cafe | Echo Park
The amazing, woman-owned restaurant in Echo Park located on the historic Baxter Street, the steepest hill in L.A. It is run by Los Angeles Entertainment and Hospitality powerhouse Misty Mansouri, who is getting ready to unveil the restaurant decor created just for Valentine’s Day. Lady Byrd is one of the most romantic restaurants on the east side and this Tuesday evening they will offer a special Valentine’s Day menu, which features options from lobster to ahi tuna to duck and filet mignon, along with an optional wine pairing.
The Barish at The Hollywood Roosevelt | Hollywood
Whether you’re celebrating Galentine’s Day with a close group of friends or enjoying a romantic night out with your significant other, The Barish is the perfect setting for a memorable Valentine’s Day rendezvous. They’ll be serving decadent dishes á la carte from their expansive menu from 5pm–9pm on the big day.
Bicyclette | Beverly Hills
Walter and Margarita Manzke’s traditional bistro will offer a five-course Valentine’s menu highlighting seasonal ingredients and signature favorites from Bicyclette’s regular menu, with options for vegetarians and pescatarians. Bicyclette is one of the best new-ish restaurants out there, and while the upstairs tasting menu at Manzke might have just won a new Michelin star (and is already sold out for Valentine’s, by the way), the downstairs bistro’s green-and-wood interiors offer a more relaxed Parisian vibe. $225 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.
Bar Lis | Hollywood
If glitz and glam is what you’re after this Valentine’s Day look no further than Bar Lis. They’ll be hosting “Jazz Night: A Celebration of Love” featuring holiday themed cocktails, champagne table packages, and Jazz Eclectic L.A. Make a reservation, and get ready to hit the town.
République | La Brea
The critically acclaimed Californian French eatery is offering a multi-course tasting menu with a mouth-watering $495 premier option that throws in a full wine pairing, glasses of Krug champagne and supplemental Périgord truffles. Though the exact menu has not yet been released, expect lots of seasonal produce, high-quality meat and seafood. (Note that vegans cannot be accommodated.) The charming former Campanile space is always an excellent place in terms of both atmosphere and cuisine to spend Valentine’s Day. Without the wine pairing? It will set you back $260 per person plus beverage, tax and gratuity.
A.O.C Wine Bar | West Hollywood and Brentwood
A four-course dinner for two at a relatively modest $150 per person is sure to woo your love while not breaking the bank. The evening will begin with a trio of savory dishes followed by a second course of nettle gnocchi with Maine lobster. For their entree, guests can choose between turmeric-grilled oyster mushrooms, striped bass, stuffed chicken, and slow-roasted beef tenderloin. The meal concludes with cookies and ice cream. Both locations of Suzanne Goin and Caroline Styne’s pioneering hyper-seasonal California-French eatery will offer the same four-course, seasonally driven Valentine’s Day prix-fixe menu. Start your dinner off right with dishes like avocado and blood orange salad with crème fraiche. Other highlights include a stuffed chicken with morels, country bread and stewed leeks and nettle gnocchi with Maine lobster. For dessert, there’s a drool-worthy ode to the Girl Scout Samoa.
Casa Madera | West Hollywood
With its charming and fun atmosphere, innovative flavors, and sustainably sourced ingredients, the brand-new Casa Madera on Sunset is sure to please you and your lucky date. Valentine’s Day specials include Oysters Rockefeller ($18), pan-roasted arctic char ($32), and pan roasted spaetzle ($12). All á la carte.
Mickey’s Deli | Hermosa Beach
Mickey’s Deli is a Hermosa Beach institution and each year they offer a delightful heart-shaped pizza. This year, they’ll be offering the unique to-go dinner option from Friday, February 10 through Tuesday, February 14th. The cost is certainly the most affordable on this list at just $20 with additional toppings for just $1.50. Call to order your heart–shaped pizza in advance, pick it up in-store to-go, or get it delivered through Mickey’s Website or Third-Party Apps. With a heart–shaped pizza or two ordered for this Valentine’s Day, the goal is to provide the same an affordable but special pizza pie for both couples and families alike at an affordable price.
Call ahead for reservations and availability. Enjoy!
