Looking for the best ways to soak up the summer vibes this weekend in Los Angeles? You’re in luck! National Rosé Day kicks off with two spectacular gatherings: the scenic King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas will feature a selection of French, Californian, Frozen, and non-alcoholic rosés, along with a DJ set by Anderson .Paak. Enjoy music, art installations, giant games, and food by Next Iron Chef champion Marc Forgione. Meanwhile, Venice’s Rosé on Rose event will transform Rose Ave into a hub of tastings, food deals, live music, and artisan vendors, all in support of the Venice Family Clinic. LA Pride 2024 promises a weekend of vibrant celebrations, with a highlight being the LA Pride Parade on June 9 in Hollywood, led by Grand Marshals George Takei, Cassandro El Exotico, and LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley. Don’t miss Ricky Martin headlining LA Pride in the Park on June 8 at LA State Historic Park. Additionally, Peacock’s cult hit “The Traitors” hosts an experiential pop-up at The Grove, featuring a recreation of the show’s castle garden and fan activities. American Contemporary Ballet: ‘Sapphires’
Bank of America Plaza

In the 1960s, choreographer George Balanchine collaborated with jewelry designer Van Cleef & Arpels to create a remarkable series of ballets inspired by precious gems—diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. These works stood as early examples of innovative branded content. Although Balanchine began a fourth piece, Sapphires, set to the music of Arnold Schoenberg, it remained unfinished. Now, in a tribute to what would have been Schoenberg’s 150th birthday, the American Contemporary Ballet brings this vision to life, performing their imaginative interpretation of Sapphires through the end of the month.

‘Run Lola Run’ Screening and Q&A
Landmark’s Nuart Theatre

The German film “Run Lola Run,” which won the 1998 Audience Award at Sundance, follows Lola (Franka Potente) as she races to find 100,000 Deutschmarks to save her boyfriend. The film, released 25 years ago, inspired various pop culture moments, including the visuals for Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life” music video in 2000. Vanity Fair’s Anthony Breznican chronicles the film’s history. Franka Potente will join film critic Scott Mantz for back-to-back Q&As.

The main highlights include the LA Pride Parade on June 9 in Hollywood, led by Grand Marshals George Takei, Cassandro El Exotico, and LAFD Chief Kristin Crowley, along with a Parade Block Party offering live entertainment and vendors. LA Pride in the Park on June 8 at LA State Historic Park will feature Ricky Martin as the headliner. Additionally, Pride is Universal at Universal Studios Hollywood on June 15 will provide an after-hours experience with DJs, dance areas, cash bars, rides, and attractions. LGBTQ+ Pride Night at Dodger Stadium will take place on June 14, where the Dodgers will play the Kansas City Royals, featuring pre-game festivities and special Pride merchandise.
