Bright Eyes: 21 Years of Wide Awake & Digital Ash
Saturday, May 23 7 p.m.
Hollywood Bowl
COST: VARIES
Indie rock institution Bright Eyes arrives at the Hollywood Bowl on May 23 for a rare anniversary performance celebrating 21 years of the band’s landmark 2005 albums, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn. Joined by cult anti-folk favorites The Moldy Peaches, the evening will see both records performed in full, revisiting the dual release that cemented Bright Eyes as one of the defining voices of 2000s indie music. Equal parts intimate folk confession and fractured electronic experimentation, the albums captured the political anxiety and emotional volatility of their era while helping launch frontman Conor Oberst into a new tier of cultural prominence.
