Silver Lake hacienda tied to Leonardo DiCaprio sells for $1.55 million
Leonardo DiCaprio is still wheeling and dealing on the L.A. real estate scene. The Academy Award-winning actor has sold a Silver Lake property he owned in a trust for $1.555 million, records show. Earlier this year, he bought a Los Feliz home from musician Moby for a family member. The Silver Lake property, built in 1931, was also occupied by one of DiCaprio’s relatives. Spanish tile rings the custom front door, and there’s a gated courtyard entry with a koi pond. Both entrances set the tone for a floor plan filled with original details.

Inside Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita’s Los Feliz Home, Where Wit and Warmth Rule
Even without stepping inside the cyan-trimmed 1928 Spanish Colonial of Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband, activist and social innovator Justin Mikita, one fact is crystal clear: The couple excels at the delicate art of balancing kitsch and class, their cheeky wit fusing with aesthetic prowess. It’s a mashup of informal and formal that feels cozy and intimate in a way that betrays the Loz Feliz house’s size and the could-be severity of its original Gothic-inflected interior finishes—painted ceilings, stained glass, and ornate wrought iron. Perhaps the most exemplary juxtaposition: A “Homo Sweet Homo” mat welcomes guests through the impressive arched entry vestibule.

Last listed at $2.995 million, the condo first popped up for sale in mid-October (2018) at $3.195 million after it languished on the market for about six months as a high-end rental, first at almost $13,000 per month and then at a bit below $11,000 per month.

Drake Drops $4.5 Million on Third Hidden Hills Estate
Drake, who hauled in an estimated $94 million in 2017, according to the celebrity bean counters at Forbes, has solidified his property gossip status as an up-and-coming real estate baller, we first heard from real estate yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak, with the $4.5 million, off-market purchase of a remarkably unremarkable ranch style residence next door to his already sprawling, multi-residence compound in the guard-gated Hidden Hills community in L.A.’s affluent far western suburbs. This is the teen actor turned 35-time Grammy nominated music industry phenom’s third acquisition in the heavily celebrified enclave where he now owns all three of the contiguous estates that pin wheel around the end of a short cul-de-sac and together encompass 6.7 acres.

Ellen Page Lists Hollywood Hills Mid-Century Home

The 2007 Oscar nominee, currently co-host of the LGBTQ-oriented travel series “Gaycation” and also filming the upcoming Netflix sequel miniseries “Tales of the City,” based on the novels of Armistead Maupin, purchased the property about 4.5 years ago for a mite more than $1.7 million from tennis pro Venus Williams.

No Doubt’s Tony Kanal releases his latest flip in Los Feliz
No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal has apparently wrapped up his latest home-flipping project in Los Feliz. The Traditional house he owned through a limited liability company has sold for $2.6 million, public records show. When he bought the fixer-upper in May for $1.66 million, listing photos showed such original 1935 details as an ornate portico, interior arches, hardwood floors, a wood-paneled den and tiled bathrooms.

Rihanna Seeks Buyer for Hollywood Hills Home
Just over six months after her Los Angeles residence was busted into by an intruder/stalker who hung around inside the lavish house for 12 hours, mononymic Barbadian pop phenom Rihanna has unsurprisingly hoisted the property near the base of Nichols Canyon up for sale at $7.495 million. The nine-time Grammy winning fashion icon purchased the property about 1.5 years ago for $6.8 million.

Veteran Showrunner Marti Noxon Renovates and Lists Studio City Contemporary
In addition to being an accomplished, Emmy-nominated television writer and producer, veteran showrunner Marti Noxon seems to be dipping her toe in the high-end house flipping business, listing a freshly rehabbed mid-century ranch house in the hills above Studio City, Calif., for $2.399 million. Perched along a wooded ridge with rustic, cross-canyon views near the end of a short cul-de-sac above Laurel Canyon in a neighborhood referred to in SoCal real estate circles as “The Donnas” because all the streets begin with the feminine Spanish honorific “Doña,” there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,323-square-feet.

Hedi Slimane Lists Beverly Hills Masterpiece
French art photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane, named in early 2018 as creative director at the prestigious, Paris-based luxury brand Celine (formerly known as Céline), has his sublime, architecturally pedigreed pad on a coveted cul-de-sac in the perennially chic and, hence, extravagantly expensive Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills, Calif., available at $17.5 million.

Niecy Nash Upgrades in SoCal’s Suburban Bell Canyon
“Claws” star Niecy Nash has upgraded her suburban Southern California residential circumstances with the just over $2 million purchase of a spacious Mediterranean residence about thirty-some miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles in the relatively unsung and guard-gated Bell Canyon enclave that’s discretely tucked into the rugged foothills just north of the notoriously celebrity-packed Hidden Hills community. Originally built in the early 1980s but completely rebuilt in 2007 and well positioned for maximum privacy and panoramic views at the higher end of an up-sloped parcel of more than half of an acre, the turreted two-story white stucco and clay tile roofed residence sits amid mature trees and landscaped gardens with six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in 5,812-square-feet.
