Final Bow for Gustavo Dudamel Headlines Hollywood Bowl’s Expansive 2026 Season
The 2026 summer season at the Hollywood Bowl arrives with both celebration and transition at its core. Anchoring the lineup is a week in August honoring Gustavo Dudamel in his 17th and final season as Music and Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, alongside a roster that stretches confidently across classical, jazz, hip-hop, pop, rock, film music and fireworks spectacles.
The season officially opens June 20 with “The Best of Broadway,” a curtain-raising evening devoted to musical theater’s most enduring songs. From there, the Bowl’s famously eclectic programming accelerates into a three-month survey of global sound.

Hollywood Bowl’s 2025 Summer Lineup Unveiled: Big Thief, Air, Grace Jones, Diana Ross, Cynthia Erivo, Hugh Jackman, & More
The Hollywood Bowl’s 2025 summer season is shaping up to be an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and community. Buckle up, Los Angeles—this lineup is a blockbuster.
Kicking off the season in June is none other than Hugh Jackman. The award-winning singer and actor will bring his larger-than-life presence to the stage for an unforgettable night, performing hits from The Greatest Showman, The Music Man, and more. But it’s not just Jackman alone—he’ll be joined by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, conducted by the legendary Thomas Wilkins, alongside the youthful brilliance of YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles). This one-night-only gala, a staple in the LA scene, raises much-needed funds for the LA Phil’s music education initiatives. It’s a night to remember, for a cause that hits close to home.

In keeping with the Bowl’s legendary tradition, “The Return of the Hollywood Bowl Musical” takes center stage with Jesus Christ Superstar, the iconic rock opera from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. And just when you think it can’t get any better, in steps the Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-winning powerhouse Cynthia Erivo, starring as Jesus. This bold reimagining is sure to be a showstopper.
The rest of the season is a true musical feast, featuring some of the world’s most celebrated artists. Grace Jones will bring her avant-garde energy, while Juanes and Angélique Kidjo will transport us to the heart of Latin and African rhythms. The incomparable Yo-Yo Ma is on the roster, as is Cyndi Lauper with her unmistakable voice and charisma. John Legend and The Roots will take us on a sonic journey through soul and R&B, while Diana Ross continues to reign supreme as a true icon of the stage. The Best Special Events & Things to Do in Los Angeles This Weekend | June 28 – 30
This sunny and warm final weekend of June in Los Angeles is brimming with special events you won’t want to miss. After a five-year hiatus, Friday night wine tasting events are back at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn. A $45 ticket gets you a flight of wine curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. The series continues every Friday through August 30. On Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM, head to the Hollywood Bowl for the Roots Picnic: ‘Hip-Hop Is the Love of My Life,’ a centerpiece of the BET Fan Fest. Questlove and The Roots will be hosting a “picnic” at L.A.’s favorite summer venue, bringing along talented friends like Queen Latifah, Common, Digable Planets, Arrested Development, The Pharcyde, and Black Sheep. Also on Saturday, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, check out the ‘Dear Long Beach’ Film Series at Long Beach Community Media Arts at Place LB. This event brings together four diverse emerging filmmakers who created a series of personal Super 8 diary/essay films focused on Long Beach, CA. Celebrate the completion of this project with a free public film screening in the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach.
