Year of the Tiger

This week, celebrate the Year of the Tiger by visiting Ai Weiwei’s Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads in Legacies of Exchange.

Also, make sure to stop by the adjacent gallery and experience Artists Inspired by Music: Interscope Reimagined, open through Sunday, February 13. Remember to bring headphones when you visit.

Sat Feb 5 | 10 am–7 pm | Smidt Welcome Plaza

Join us for a festive FREE day to celebrate Artists Inspired by Music: Interscope Reimagined, featuring 50 works by some of today’s most celebrated artists inspired by albums and songs from three decades of the Interscope catalogue.

Enjoy live DJ sets and dance activations throughout the day.

On view through Sun Mar 13

Spotlighting encounters, exchanges, and collisions between China and the West, Legacies of Exchange features Chinese contemporary art, including works by Ai Weiwei, Huang Yong Ping, Wang Guangyi, Yue Minjun, and more.

Based on social interventions, a contemporary approach to the readymade, and his familiarity with Chinese traditional crafts, this monograph explores each of the periods of Ai’s work until his release from custody.
