The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker – BBCM West Hollywood

Who doesn’t love outdoor dining? And when you can do it on Sunset Boulevard even better! New all day cafe The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker has opened its doors, and patio, on Sunset in West Hollywood and now that the weather has warmed up you will definitely want to check it out.

I know, you’ll either rolling your eyes at the Wes Anderson-esque name, or you’re already on board, The Butcher, The Baker, The Cappuccino Maker is certainly a mouthful, so they go by BBCM for short. BBCM offers modern California cuisine with European influences for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Plus tempting fresh baked goods, speciality coffee beverages, and, don’t worry, handcrafted cocktails and a comprehensive wine list.

In Hollywood, kitchens aren’t ran, they’re helmed, and BBCM is helmed by Executive Chef Ren Nisenbaum and Michelin star-earning Corporate Executive Chef Craig Hopson of Chin Chin. BBCM promises season local farm-fresh ingredients. We’ve been twice now, for brunch and dinner, and we were lucky enough to sit in one of their large, comfy yellow booths.

BBCM’s interior is bright and cheery California chic. Start, of course, with their sure to be soon-to-be famous Butcher’s Bloody Mary. Just the right amount of spice and nearly a meal in itself!

Their Seafood Omelette is made with cage-free eggs, dill, creme fraiche, and salmon caviar. It’s nice and somewhat rare in Los Angeles to find seafood on the brunch menu, so this was a welcome first course.

Diners in Los Angeles are undeniably health conscious, and BBCM does not skimp on the farm fresh salads. This is the locally sourced red and golden beets with pine nut brittle, goat cheese, and sherry vinegar.

On the sweeter side, these light, moist, and fluffy Ricotta pancakes are served with apple and cinnamon jam. No Maple syrup or butter necessary!

For dinner, try their hand-cut spaghetti. “Made in-house,” they brag. In LA, we wouldn’t expect anything less!

A friend had the Tender beef short rib, with crushed sunchokes, and crispy kale. He proclaimed a meat-lovers dream.

And if you’re on the go, BBCM has you covered with a large selection of pastries, both sweet and savory.

BBCM’s menu will change often when fresh ingredients become available, so make a reservation now, and then another next week. And always leave room for dessert.
