Celebrating Mother’s Day at Sunday Brunch in Los Angeles

Nothing says “I love you Mom” like a fantastic Sunday brunch where the champagne flows and the dishes, and laughs, are aplenty. Are you making last minute Mother’s Day plans? You’ll want to take a look at this list of eight amazing spots for Mother’s Day brunch that, against all odds, still have a table or two open. While we celebrate Mom every day in our own way, here’s where to take Mom for a brunch to remember this Sunday in Los Angeles.

Culver City

Bianca is offering a “Mamma Mia Brunch” where guests can celebrate their mammas with a delicious brunch featuring menu specials inspired by Gianni’s and his grandmother Bianca (the restaurant is named after her!), perfect to pair with mimosas and other sparkling wine cocktails. Bianca is also offering a collection of brilliant gifts! A special selection of treats by Federico Fernandez are perfect to share and so pretty to look at. The selection includes Harry’s Berries Strawberry Tart, Raspberry Mille Foglie, their signature Mom cookie, a beautiful vanilla sandwich cookie, or a gift box of assorted cookies. Any of these will make a wonderful gift for any mother in your life. Family has always been at the center of Bianca. Inspired by Nonna Tina (Bianca’s nickname) culinary passion, the restaurant is an homage to her charming hospitality and unwavering devotion to delectable cooking. Bianca was a self-taught chef. She hosted feasts for all the neighbors using ingredients she grew in her own garden. Everyone in Forte Dei Marmi has stories to tell about Bianca around the nights they gathered to drink and dine together.  The legacy of her recipes has made restaurants like Madeo Ristorante, Bianca, and many more in Italy unimaginable successes.

Santa Monica
This decadent French bistro in Santa Monica will offer a family-style prix fixe brunch. Start with a crisp baguette with cultured butter and deviled eggs, before digging into a light assortment of spring salads, quiche, salmon with béarnaise, duck leg confit cassoulet and seasonal vegetables. Finish with a chocolate tart for dessert.

Inn of the Seventh Ray
Topanga Canyon
This rustic yet elegant Topanga restaurant has the perfect outdoor dining vibe. Carefully tucked into the canyon, Inn of the Seventh Ray will be offering a partial buffet-style brunch on both Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of option for vegans. Dine on bagels, salads, soups, waffles and pastries before picking between vegetarian or traditional main options. Inn of the Seventh Ray arguably offers the most romantic setting on our list.

If your mother is into the Sunday brunch cocktails, look no further than Redbird. Mother’s Start with the White Carnation pictured above. Day might be the best time to visit Redbird, a Downtown restaurant housed inside a historic cathedral. Chef Neal Fraser’s holiday brunch menu includes choice of appetizer and entrée. Our favorites include a nutty-sweet kaya toast, duck confit chilaquiles and Basque baked eggs with short rib, blood sausage, piquillo peppers and Ossau-Iraty cheese.

Off Vine
This adorable little hideaway in Hollywood occasionally offers bottomless mimosas at their Sunday brunches, a veritable institution at this point. Their freshly baked banana bread is the perfect starter to the day and also a great option to take home and enjoy for the next week. Off Vine has an extensive wine list as well, and the perfect breakfast menu with several standout egg dishes, plus the desserts are simply decadent. And also? The charming little craftsman cabin that Off Vine is houses in is set for demolition later this year. So this may be your last chance – especially if you and mom have been loyal customers over the years – to dine off Vine at Off Vine.

One Pico at Shutters on the Beach
Santa Monica
Shutters on the Beach is going all out with a Mother’s Day pre-fixe brunch at $115 per person that features oysters on the half shell, Hamachi Crudio, a Caesar salad, caviar omelets, halibut, multiple desserts, and, of course, the best views of the Santa Monica beach in town.

One of the hippest fine dining destinations in Los Angeles for several years now, dining here is sure to guarantee a happy mom. Breakfast is served until 2pm, and the restaurant doesn’t take reservations until dinner service. If you can score a table, enjoy the freshest Kouign-Amann, homemade Pop-Tarts, french toast, and potato pancakes with smoked lox. Republique is also selling a fantastic Mother’s Day Gift Box so Mom can take home a little slice of this fantastic restaurant with her.

The Huntington Library
San Marino
The Huntington is a Mother’s Day classic. Enjoy in the beautiful Rose Hills Foundation Garden Court. The full buffet includes fresh salad and fruit, a seafood station, omelet station, hot buffet, special selections for youngsters, a dessert extravaganza, and coffee/tea station. A full bar available for purchase including mimosas and Bloody Marys. Advance tickets are required, and capacity is limited. Your brunch ticket time is your arrival time. Brunch ticket includes admission to The Huntington for the day.

Happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy! And make sure to call ahead to check availability and pricing.
