East LA Meets Napa at California Plaza’s Food & Wine Event this Friday
This Friday, July 15 at 6pm, Angelenos and our Napa Valley comrades will meet in downtown Los Angeles’s beautiful California Plaza for East LA Meets Napa, a unique event that celebrates the richness of Latin food and the success of Latino-owned family vineyards in California.
This is the eleventh iteration of East LA Meets Napa, which pairs the tasty gourmet flavors of LA-style Mexican food with vibrant wines from the Napa Valley. When these two worlds collide, guests are sure to enjoy a delicious and delectable sensory delight.
The event boasts an impressive roster of celebrity chefs who have a connection to Los Angeles Latin cuisine like Ingrid Hoffman, Hamlet Garcia, and Doreen Colondres. More than 35 top LA restaurants will participate in the showcase and pair their bites with hand selected glasses of vino from the Napa region.
It’s the perfect opportunity to spend a warm summer evening outdoors at California Plaza, a peaceful and calming refuge in the heart of bustling Downtown LA.
Guests will also enjoy a live concert by Grammy Award Winner Poncho Sanchez, one of the most influential conga players and percussionists in Afro-Cuban jazz.
Tickets for the event are not cheap($175 for an individual ticket; up to $300 for VIP admission), but the proceeds will benefit local clinic service AltaMed, so you can savor the delicious foods and libations with the added comfort of knowing you contributed to a very good cause.
