While coffee shops abound in Los Angeles, if you’re anything like me, sometimes you want your tea, too. Opening in downtown’s booming Arts District, American Tea Room offers over 100 different teas to try in their lovely patio area or to take home with you.
The American Tea Room also has a full liquor license. So, interesting tea-based cocktails are on the menu. As are pastries, food and chocolates (all made with tea) from Valerie Gordon of Valerie Confections.
The space is immaculate. The vast space has a front patio, with couches, a green ivy-covered wall, and fire pits. It’s the perfect place to relax with friends.
With all the choices, you may feel overwhelmed. But, not to worry! Upstairs you’ll find an interactive Tea Zone, with computer screens that will describe all the various teas. Believe me, I couldn’t nearly try them all on my first visit, so I can’t wait to go back soon.
And, for the die-hard exclusive coffee-drinkers, American Tea Room has you covered. They serve Verve coffee, which is kept and made in the kitchen, so American Tea Room maintains its aroma and delicious tea, not coffee.
