Brothers Charles and Henry Greene were influential early 20th Century architects responsible for many of Los Angeles’s very best Craftsman homes. Best known for two masterworks in Pasadena — the Gamble House (1908) and the Blacker House (1907) — Greene & Greene’s incredible designs are still considered some of the finest residences in American architecture more than a century later.

Taking major inspiration from Greene & Greene, the Flicker House was crafted with the same architectural details and principles that have become hallmarks of their homes throughout Southern California.

Features include a gabled overhanging roof, copper downspouts, amazing leaded glass interior doors and light fixtures, and extensive wood paneling, molding, wrought iron railings, beautiful hardwood floors, and custom wood cabinetry.

The one-of-a-kind living room features not one but two fireplaces, a drop dead gorgeous exposed wood beamed ceiling, multiple outdoor access points, built-in bookcases, skylights, and a charming bay window with seating and hidden storage. This incredible living room also features a second sitting area with a hidden television, making this an ideal space for entertaining and lounging.

A step-down family room is the perfect spot to enjoy a night of Netflix with friends and family. This spot also has the home’s third fireplace.

This den also boasts built-in bookshelves and beautiful woodwork.

And if you were hoping for one more indoor entertaining space welcome to the expansive bar and parlor. This room is tiled, making any accidental spills easy to clean up.

The space also features a pair of sliding glass doors that lead to the beautiful, private backyard.

The lush backyard is completely private and surrounded by mature trees. The lagoon-like pool and waterfall offers an excellent respite from Los Angeles’s summer sun.

There’s also an outdoor fireplace and multiple areas for al fresco dining.

Back inside, the unique dining room features a stained glass lighting fixture.

The gourmet cook’s kitchen has stainless steel appliances and marble countertops.

The elaborate primary suite has absolutely everything you need including built-in bookshelves, built-in storage, a window love seat, a skylight that allows plenty of light into the space, and beautiful treetop views.

The room also has a spacious seating area making the space feel like one of the best resort hotel rooms you’ve ever had the pleasure to stay in.

The bright luxurious en suite bath has both a soaking tub, walk-in shower, a desk vanity, and another gorgeous stained glass window.

The second bedroom feels like a mountain escape with several windows, hand painted murals, gorgeous wood work, and a very special built-in chest of drawers.

The third and fourth bedrooms are nicely sized with their own built-in desk spaces, ample closet space, and garden views.

A further two full baths and a common area half bath, plus a laundry room, and two car garage round out the first two stories.

A third level office space allows great opportunities to work from home. The space could also potentially become a fifth bedroom or a children’s playroom.

This third level also contains abundant closet and storage space.

The Flicker House is located in a winding neighborhood of streets named after birds (Blue Jay Way, Thrasher Avenue, Oriole Drive. and many more.) known as “The Bird Streets.” The neighborhood is a highly sought-after location for both its privacy and its proximity to the Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills, and easy access over the hill. 9201 Flicker Way presents an incredible opportunity to own an extraordinary home, a modern 1990s craftsman with style, warmth, and room to spare.
